Poultry
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I recently started having a bad reaction to grilled chicken any time I ate it. I'm not sure if its the chicken or what the chicken is fed. I'm afraid to try it again after the last episode. Any suggestions?

Try Applegate chicken products, in the freezer section.

Commercial poultry is also fed shellfish in some instances.

Fortunately, we have the room to bypass allergies by raising our own chickens & turkeys on a soy free diet. It's been a learning curve, but I am so grateful we have been able to do this. Commercial poultry is usually injected with a soy product, as well as being raised on soy feed. I couldn't eat commercial turkey for several years because of the soy allergy. It is wonderful to have eggs & poultry meat that is soy free. The kicker is I am allergic to feathers. Fortunately, I have a wonderful spouse who fully supports my struggle.

Unless it is certified organic, all poultry is loaded with antibiotics.
