Two different doctors said it was all in my head. That I should continue eating wheat or corn. I had to request a allergy test to prove it.

I have been told by multiple doctors that I don't have allergies. My current allergist confirmed that fact that not only do, they are bad. I, apparently, am one of the 10% that skin testing doesn't work on. We have to go by symptoms

Absolutely! I have allergies to corn and shellfish and have always had issues with things like corn fed beef and salmon(because their diet is shrimp)

Nobody has really ever tried to fix me, except one allergist. Now I know I'm not a good candidate for allergy shots. The smallest dose possible sent me into an asthma attack. They gave up after that. My Mom does a wonderful job with my food allergies mostly. She'll make sure I'm coming over for dinner and even asks me if I've had a reaction to whatever she wants to cook with. She and my Dad are both vegan and we've had a few close calls with tofu.

@A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member - this is exactly what I was going to say. I have friends and family say that "just a little bit won't hurt you" - "yes, it will" - I have spent many hours recovering from accidental ingestion when I was told the food was "safe."

I also had a traditional physician tell me that one of the medications I was on for my thyroid wasn't necessary. I had been on this drug for over a decade with great results. She would not renew the prescription. I could hardly get out of bed for about 3 months. The doctor required a blood test for several of my thyroid levels before she would put me back on the drug. My levels were all out of whack and only then would she agree to write the prescription.
