Hi Everyone, Can Anyone Suggest Any Recipes For Veggies With Coeliac Disease And Beans And Pulses Allergy?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi people, I have just about had enough of bland boring food just the same every night, some veg is allowed, little fruit and gluten free a must. I can't find a decent veggie sausage anywhere. Climbing the walls without them! Help?

A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member

Thanks I will try a nutritionist, coeliac disease I know about it's an auto immune condition. That doesn't bother me but having oral allergy syndrome does!

Any Tips On Navigating The Adult Social World With Food Allergies? Such As Dinner Invites?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm thinking forward 15+ years to when my daughter and her husband get invited to a friend's house for dinner. How would she accept if she doesn't know them well enough to trust their cooking to be safe? Does she just always offer to host? Bring her own food? Eat before coming over?

Finding A Job With Allergies?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

[Hello! This has been a wonderful place to lurk in the past couple of days. So glad to have found this site!!]

I have loads of food allergies, and many of them I will have reactions to just being in the same room with them. So on top of the added stress to being out in public or eating out, is the stress of finding a job. Both my mother and sister have held a few local jobs here, and all of them have had break rooms where people brought in major allergens. One of them was a Kmart, where… read more

Anyone Have Airborne Food Allergy Reactions?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My food allergy to Wheat is airborne and ingestion (anaphylactic responses with severe asthma). It is problematic for me to go many places including work. Anyone else have similar issues/reactions and how are you approaching treatment? Any successful tips to navigate this? I’ve been dealing with over a year now, but my asthma is getting worse. I just started an injectable to control the asthma allergic reactions but it takes a year to see real results.

Does Anyone Else Get Hives And Can’t Determine Why?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My hands, fingers, forearms itch like crazy all night long. I have hives all over my arms, shoulders, waist, chest. They come and go so quickly at times. The hives and itchy skin aren’t related, according to my allergist. I’ve been taking 20mg of Claritin AND 20mg of Zyrtec every day and they helped for a while but my symptoms are back again. Doctor prescribed a medication called doxepin and wants me to take two capsules at bedtime and stay on the Zyrtec but stop taking Claritin. I’m not… read more

Fragrance Allergies Cause Me Severe Migraines
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone found a medication, or other solution, to deal with fragrance allergies? Mine are severe, lifelong, and in addition to causing me to avoid MANY places, they often cause me to get severe migraines. I have many migraine triggers, but strong fragrances are one of the worst, and I find that migraines caused by fragrances or other strong odors (thick permanent markers, cleaning products, "fabric sizing" sprayed onto dept store clothes, etc)- this type of migraine does not respond to my… read more
