Rainbow vacuums do not use a bag, they use a water reservoir to trap the dust and dirt that the vacuum picks up. For a vacuum to work it has to vent out the air pulled in with the dirt. Vent through a bag means the microfine dust comes out at you and only the big stuff stays in the bag. With Rainbow, you dump the dust outside when you are finished.
HEPA is high efficiency particulate air (filter). They are designed to remove 99.97 percent of airborne particles measuring 0.3 micrometers or greater . But be sure you get "true HEPA' and not HEPA like.
Hi Tori, I have a new bed mattress, new anti-allergy pillows and pillow protectors, will they help?
Ooh what's a rainbow vacuum cleaner? What's a HEPA filter?
A Rainbow vacuum cleaner traps micro dust in water, and does not send it out through the bag at you. A HEPA filter (true HEPA, mind you...) in the bedroom.
Change sheet every week, sanitize, and change pillowcase daily.
Enclose bed mattress in dust-mite-barrier plastic cover. Same type of cover on your pillow.
Remove shoes when you enter your house. Definitely no outside shoes in your bedroom.
Vacuum your mattress cover when you change your sheets.
Do not live with furry pets who go outside and then come back in with you.
