Members rallied around someone struggling with intense cravings for shellfish despite a life-threatening allergy, with many sharing that while cravings can persist for years, they do eventually fade as the body adjusts and new favorite foods are discovered. Several members offered practical wisdom, including the insight that persistent cravings might signal vitamin deficiencies like B12 or D3, which are common when seafood is eliminated from the diet, and encouraging the member to restart their supplements and discuss testing with their doctor. A recurring theme was the emotional difficulty of giving up beloved foods tied to family traditions, met with compassionate reassurance that staying safe is worth the sacrifice, and that exploring new foods and keeping a food diary can help navigate both cravings and the complex journey of living with severe allergies.

doing better, but i keep a food diary and always ask when i go out to eat if everything is gluten free and if they have a menu! thank you for asking, today was not so great, i had a very bad reaction to some antibiotics had to take 2 benadryl tabs, and almost went into shock! no more ciproflaxin for me!

wow, that is confusing! i just know that wheat and gluten in any form is very very bad for me, i get very sick and so i just stay away from it! i was told by an allergist that i am definitely allergic to wheat and gluten, when they offered allergic shots i said no way! why would i want to do that when i got so sick i lost almost 50 pounds and almost died! not worth it to me!

I've been tested for celiac but it was clear. more likely i have a lot of different allergies, mostly suffering from constipation as well as a spastic colon. I do believe that Gluten allergy and a gluten intolerance is different as i have been tested for gluten allergy which was positive but were as i have also been tested for gluten intolerance which was negative. could someone share the light on this????

No, you can have a wheat and/or gluten intolerance. I have wheat intolerance but can thankfully handle other forms of gluten in moderation. I just had the biopsy for coeliac and it was clear but I am very reactive to wheat. I can have Durham wheat as well.
