Amaretto has a bittersweet flavor profile with notes of almonds, vanilla, and spices. The almond flavor comes from benzaldehyde, a compound found in the seeds of drupes like almonds, apricots, and peaches.

I believe amaretto is made from apricot kernels.

Amaretto has almonds in it. I avoid it too. I would definitely get to an allergist to confirm the allergy. But do not mess around with a nut allergy. But allergies can be so confusing too. Sorry this happened to you. Scary. Did you go to the ER? What did they say?

Currently there is no cure for food and allergies. Before you eliminate nuts from your diet I recommend talking to your Dr. to make sure that was the cause.
