SCHOOL DISTRICT POLICY & PROCEDURES
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has your child’s school district succeeded in providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for your child? If so, what is the school district’s policy on food allergies, better yet please give me link to the policy.

I am a teacher with a severe strawberry allergy that has progressively gotten to the point of anaphylaxis with just scent. Our school has been very cooperative and supportive because my classroom is also the lunchroom. We have had a few parents and teachers that still do not understand or follow the ban on strawberries from our building in any form (lotion, food, drink, spray, etc.), which has caused me to use benedryl and epipen. Everytime I am exposed, my allergy becomes more severe and requires medical intervention, hopefully it does not get to the point where intervention does not work.
