Are you allergic to sesame or any if its byproducts? Tahini? Oil? Cosmetics? How do you deal with it?
Hi Rosanna, my son is allergic to peanut and sesame. I find sesame is harder to avoid than peanuts as it is hidden sometimes. I usually stick to products I know that's safe especially bread and crackers. We avoid Chinese and Mediterranean restaurants.
Hi Rosanna, I have a sesame allergy and have had an anaphylactic reaction to it. I avoid everything that has a may contain sesame warning and stay away from most breads. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I would be more than happy to answer them. I also blog about my allergies here: http://www.allergygirleats.com/
It's not easy to deal with. Usually, when I buy skin products and hair products I don't read the labels. And, i'll end up with products that I think I can use and then I'll itch and get hives and cough. With sesame in food, it's hard because when you want a hamburger or sandwich there's sesame seeds on the bread. And, I usually forget to tell the server about my sesame allergy and i'll pick the sesame seeds off the bread but i'll leave some on because I'm hungry.
