A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I recently have become very allergic to perfumes, candles, detergents etc. I also have multiple food allergies and become ill from smelling seafood, soy, peanut or tree nut being cooked or roasted. I recently bought a used vehicle I searched for about a year I found one I really liked and when I tried it I didn’t notice any odor. When I purchased the car I asked them not to use any strong cleaners or chemicals because I’m allergic. When I got in the car to bring it home the car smelled like… read more

I have severe (anaphalactic) reactions to some smells and am sensitive to many more. Recently discovered Bamboo Charcoal Bags. They take smells and toxins out of the air. Ordered them on line for $19.99CD ea. But got one free for everyone I ordered. I have only had them a month but my house smells clean and fresh even after being shut up all winter. My friend bought some and I was able to go into her house without incident for the first time (she has numerous animals) Might be worth a try. They work for me.

I don't know if this will work for your high sensory to smell.
My Sonny has a high sensory overload. The only thing I have found to do the trick for him is I found an essential oil that he prefers.
I have been with YLEO as a distributor. And for years now I have found many answers to his condition with his sensitive to smells with essential oils. Many smells can trigger other conditions he has. But mostly smells make him sick. So essential oils is my answer to our situation. Maybe it is for yours I hope so. Let me know. Yours truly. Susan.

I as well have sensitivity to scents and cleaners. it took about 2 months for the car smell to go away that they cleaned it with. Try changing the air filter under the hood. My used car smelled a little like mildew so my fiance changed the air filter, it was so dirty. It is so much better now. Not many people think about the air filter. Now if I could just have one to walk around with. lol

Susan, I’ve tried this recently and actually found it worked. I do OK with organic peppermint oil and I tried some on my wrist because I was going into an environment with other irritants. I continued to smell my wrist before the other odors overwhelmed me and was successful staying for an hour in a situation that usually causes me to leave due to facial swelling and wheezing.
