What Medical Diagnosis Catagory Do I Fall Into?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been sick for early 12 years. I have so many food intolerances including gluten, sugar alcohols, and even intolerances to facial creams, sunscreens, and just about every topical lotions that absorb into my skin. Recently I purchased a L’Oreal product that was gluten-free and fragrance free but I still broke out in hives and a burning rash. My primary care placed me on prednisone. What in the world is going on with my body? The 25+ doctors over the years have no idea. I’m beyond… read more

It also sounds like your immune system is very compromised. One must stay away from cortisone as this only hides the problem temporally and take lots of immune boosters that hopefully will work for you. eg. Zinc, vit d and b and c, Septoguard, viral guard, Scott's emulsion. Recently I have heard of Castor oil packs help. Have a look into it, as this removes toxin's under the skin evidently. I haven't tried it though. Homeopaths are against cortisone, but I know it works quickly. One must just not use it often or for long periods.

You might be allergic to salicylates. A friend of mine noticed that when she puts sunblock on which contains this, a rash occurs, but when she applies another sunblock that does not contain salicylate, she has no reaction. Unfortunately, many foods also have this. Google it for more info.

That sounds familiar to me. However, my diagnoses (doctor approved conclusion) about my own trial and error experiences with reactions to everything from most foods to detergent was a corn allergy. In the most severe form, my body reacts to any additive in anything (everything) that was or was derived from corn or inorganic sources. I get the "flareups" you talk about becausr my reactions were so bad they would have effects that lasted up to a month in one way or another, often making me feel sick.

I have had the same issue for over 20 years and the only thing making it better is a monthly injection of xolair.
