Grocery items I used to buy have sea salt included now. Some restaurants use sea salt now.
I forgot to add- I literally foam at the mouth and will drool uncontrollably afterwards. No one has ever heard of this that I've talked to. I generally stay away from shellfish/fish because I'm sure… read more
I have food intolerances. I get very sick with wheat. It feels like I'm going to die. I my skin test showed a giant hive for wheat, but my blood work is neg. I had a positive skin test for dairy, but I can eat it with no problems. I don't understand.
My doctor and others told me not allergic bc none of my "intolerances" show up in my blood work. Won't even consider skin testing. 🤯😕
Can a severe migraine - headache, aura's, nausea, vomiting, light & sound sensitivity, and only being able to tolerate ginger ale and mint tea(no solids) for 5 days - be considered anaphylaxis?
Anaphylaxis is the result of the immune system, the body's natural defense system, overreacting to a trigger. This is often something you're allergic to, but not always. Common anaphylaxis triggers… read more
My daughter went on a field trip and wanted a school bagged lunch. Our previous school district was great with separating lunches for allergies. Yesterday my daughter had PB&J in her lunch. She rolled with it very well. Tried to tell the teachers, but she said nothing happened. Her lunch was raisins, chips, and an apple. She said it was ok because she was full after that. So happy she spoke up and made good choices, but worried it could have been worse. Will be talking with the school tomorrow… read more
Kudos to you for teaching your child to self advocate & understand her allergies.

She swears by it, but she has more sensitivities tip certain foods than out right allergic reactions. I'd read about it and did some research. It had pros and cons, but I did seek out a naturopathic doctor to see if or how this would work. When I saw him, he said "If this was a proven cure for severe food allergies and people had access to this, no one would have severe food allergies."… read more
I believe in science and not faith when it comes to medical treatments. I believe in faith and not science when it comes to spiritual treatments.

RAST is more accurate, but expensive. No matter what the test shows, you still need to listen to your body more.

CHEF CARDS
I have posted this before, but perhaps time to do so again. https://www.foodallergy.org/sites/default/files...
You can download these cards which you customize with your allergies or food intolerances. Laminate them and give one to your server when you go out to eat and ask them to show the chef. If you have foods that would require you to use your epipen if eaten - be… read more
