Some people with food allergies have Schatzki rings in their esophagus which narrow the tube. Food can get stuck but they can dilate the esophagus. Hot rice is a primary trigger. I don’t sneeze but I cough. I loathe it, worst pain ever.

When you feel like food is stuck it could be eosinophilic esophagitis. I’m not a medical professional but I think I have it. Hurts awfully. I gag and vomit
