Members enthusiastically supported the idea of a dedicated corn allergy group, sharing that corn's presence in nearly everything, from food to medications, makes daily life feel like a full-time research project. Several members offered practical strategies such as making homemade condiments, soap, and chapstick, using compounding pharmacies for corn-free medications despite the high cost, and relying on helpful resources like the Corn Allergy Library website and allergen-free recipe blogs. A recurring theme was the financial and logistical burden of managing a corn allergy, the gratitude for community support and shared knowledge, and the validation that comes from connecting with others who truly understand the challenge.

My youngest son was initially allergic to corn and it was challenging. We do not currently have that allergy but we got a million others so I agree with you. Allergies should be grouped separately sometimes.

Me! It's so difficult when corn is in EVERYTHING. It's like a full-time job researching alternatives, including medications. I'm open to ideas!

Sure is! Compounding pharmacy is costly, but I am thankful I can get necessary meds in order to function. The world has no idea!

How do you make your own chapstick?

Corn allergy is similar to gluten allergy. If you’re allergic to one you may be to the other too. I’ve contemplated if I have it. Headaches. Stuffy nose. Itching. Stomach stuff. I have been a member but never explored the site. Would for sure think corn would be on here as it is a grain. Like my dogs are allergic to grains so they don’t get corn or wheat. They would lick themselves to death and boy do their eyes get bloodshot. Well I guess same for me but not all the time?
