Also try fresh ginger. You can get ginger bits with sugar like in the Asian restaurants in stores. Or shred ginger onto food or in smoothies. Note: some ginger powder has additives to make it pour better.

I use digestive enzymes when I need to eat but don't feel up to it. A heating pad also helps when my stomach is upset.

Hi Val2!

What foods do you react to?

There's a good deal of "detective work" when it comes to eliminating trigger foods; I would read through labels and see if there's any cross-contact with trigger foods. Also look around the kitchen, pantry, etc. to see if any cross-contact is occuring there.

In your story you mentioned a past car accident; often trauma lingers for years, even decades after the event. Anxiety can present with physical symptoms like nausea and other GI issues. I'm learning this myself after seeking therapy to work through multiple traumas! Also I learned trauma can trigger immune system dysfunction, something I keep in mind while seeking healing.

Have you ever been prescribed any mast cell stabilizers? My allergist has started me on oral cromolyn sodium, a mast cell stabilizer. I take it 30 minues before each meal and again before bedtime. This has helped decrease my own nausea, intestinal cramping and diarrhea. Hopefully at the next visit we'll increase to the full dose and it will eliminate all that completely!

Hope this has been helpful :)
