Is There Anyone That Can't Eat Onions Or Garlic?

Is There Anyone That Can't Eat Onions Or Garlic?

I have not been diagnosed but they elimination have found them to be the culprits of by bouts of extreme stomach cramping and light headedness. The thing is the symptoms aren't always severe. Is anyone else experiencing this? Have you found anything that helps other than trying to avoid them?

I often have reactions (mouth) to raw onions, but I can tolerate them cooked, usually, although they will upset my stomach sometimes.

Hello
I'm looking for my fiance. He is anaphylactic allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, pea protein and sensitivity to soy. Everytime we find something it has pea protein in it or soy.

Allergic To Carrots, No EpiPen, And Scared.

Allergic To Carrots, No EpiPen, And Scared.

I have a severe carrot allergy that started 15 years ago. After I developed the allergy (literally overnight) I found myself reacting to other foods such as, sweet potatoes, radishes, turnips, beets, watermelon, cantaloupe, parsnips, and various squashes. I live with my husband's family who seem to not want to understand or help me prevent a reaction. They do not seem to want to understand cross contamination, and they refuse to change their diet so that my kitchen is allergen free. (They like… read more

As you posted 3 months ago, I sure hope by now you have seen the allergist and have your EpiPens (or generic equivalent). I don’t tolerate diphenhydramine (Benadryl) well either and save that for… read more

What Do You Do When The Store Stops Carrying Your Allergy Safe Pantry Staples.

I have bought nut and soy allergy safe baking coco at Whole Foods for years. They stopped selling it. They have also removed basic popcorn telling me they only carry it in bulk now. I do not buy bulk products due to cross contamination. Is anyone else frustrated with the lack of safe foods grocery stores seem to stock. I do not want fan ay packaged/processed foods, these are basic staples. I do not want to take the time to drive to 4-5 stores to find allergy safe pantry staples.

Sunflower Seeds/sunflower Lechithin

Sunflower Seeds/sunflower Lechithin

I'm highly allergic to sunflower seeds. I can eat chips cooked in sunflower oil though (for example lays). I am also allergic to wheat, so recently I bought some gluten free donuts from Aldi's. It's the liveGfree brand. One of the ingredients almost on the bottom of the list is sunflower lechithin. I have never heard of it before. Would it be safe to eat the donuts? I'm surely hoping so because I bought 3 boxes.

A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member said:

If it's near the bottom of the list, there's a good chance there's not a lot of it in the donuts. Be safe with a test nibble, then 1/2 a donut. I can eat mayonnaise with no reaction despite all… read more

Allergy Shots

Allergy Shots

I just started allergy shots for my environmental allergies. The 3rd round caused a terrible upset stomach as if I ate a food I'm allergic to. Anyone experience this before?

A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member said:

Yes, I had allergy shots for about 10 years. They really helped my reaction to pollen, leaves, trees and dust. But now years later I’m having lots of food allergies, citrus, tomato, corn, dairy. They… read more

Alpha Gal Allergies

Alpha Gal Allergies

Who has this? Finally requested doctors office blood testing for Lymes. Not sure of that result as it is not available or wasn't ordered however, I tested positive for Alpha Gal. What guidance were you advised besides avoiding Beef Pork and Lamb? Realize this also includes No meats from any hoofed animals including wild game. New journey. Continue eating Medeterrian diet-lifestyle for (our) health issues and easiest for two retirees.

Food Allergy

Food Allergy

Hello All
I recently had a severe allergic reaction and was almost about to pass out, i took 2 benadryl tablets and I was lucky that my symptoms were under control within 2 hours. I went to see an Allergy doctor and he said he can't pin point what i am allergic too. I want to get to the root cause of this problem so my question is would it help going to an infectious disease doctor who can do further testing and see if there is any autoimmune disease going on that's causing this to happen? Has… read more
