Told To Cut Out Cows Milk And Yeast! Very Worried About Having No Carbs And Dairy And My Energy Levels. What Can I Eat? Please Help!
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Recently been told I must cut out cows milk (all dairy) and all yeast forever. Its an intolerance rather than an allergy, but already I'm feeling tired and running on empy. I just have no idea what I can and cannot eat. But also, what can I replace foods with so I don't miss out on important nutrients. Feeling very down about it all. Any advice would be highly welcomed. Thanks

I can't eat dairy or yeast either. I found a great dairy free yogurt that I love. As for the fatigue, I also have fibromyalgia and I found this great doctor on endfatigue.com. He has an energy revitalization powder mix that has every vitamin you can imagine in it. One of the main problems for people with food allergies/sensitivities is we don't get the nutrients we need. This mix covers that problem. Good luck

I am so sorry. Have you tried Googling non-dairy and/or non-wheat recipes? If you can afford it, or insurance pay for it, maybe a nutritionist could help.

It sounds like you need to take a Calcium supplement if you can no longer eat dairy.

There are a lot of great alternatives to dairy and yeast - I would check out the 'free from' section of the grocery store or in the health food area for yeast free options.

Sometimes when you go through eliminating things from your diet it takes our body a while to adjust and that is why you have the fatigue. There are so many milk alternatives. I use Almond or coconut or a combination. I have tried hemp, cashew and some of the others and prefer to use those for cooking only. There is also vegan cheeses and yogurts. Whole Foods carries a coconut milk yogurt.

If you are worried about not getting the nutrients that you need you may want to consult with a specialist who can work with you and suggest ways to enhance your diet. Although I am pretty well educated in this area I worked for months with one to make sure that I was not depleting my body of things that it needed.

Good luck!

vegetables, fruits, and whole grains are your best carb sources and should provide you with ample energy.
