I choose not to eat at social events. I try to eat before I go and have something in the car to eat when I leave, it's just not worth the risk.

The only people I trust to make anything for me is myself and my mom.....other than that if I'm not there while it's being made....i don't touch it. I've had two close encounters with death due to allergic reactions. Then I've had multiple smaller easy to control reaction. All anaphylactic shock related. Scares me every time....i play it safe.

My entire kitchen is gluten free and that is all we eat. Guests have never questioned if it was gluten free or not because they can't tell.

I take fruit/nut bars with me everywhere, as I know there will probably be no goodies I can eat! There are however a few kind people who understand and try their best to cater for me.

@A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member sorry to hear your family isn't more supportive. I guess it something people just can't understand until they have experienced anaphylaxis.
