Holistic Treatments? NAET/OIT...

Holistic Treatments? NAET/OIT...

I'm finding myself a bit frustrated. A friend recommended me trying a natural/holistic treatment called NAET. She swears by it, but she has more sensitivities tip certain foods than out right allergic reactions. I'd read about it and did some research. It had pros and cons, but I did seek out a naturopathic doctor to see if or how this would work. When I saw him, he said "If this was a proven cure for severe food allergies and people had access to this, no one would… read more

Where do you find good recipes?

Where do you find good recipes?

I've tried looking on Pinterest and google but it's hard to find anything that doesn't contain the allergy food. Am I overlooking something?

Has anyone had the issue of Benadryl not working for them all of a sudden?

Has anyone had the issue of Benadryl not working for them all of a sudden?

I have been taking Benadryl tablets for the last 6 months for itching caused by food allergies. I am obviously allergic to something that I have not figured out yet. I take 2 tablets and within 30 minutes to an hour all of the itching subsides. Also, I did not have any side effects like drowsiness. My friends were amazed that I could stay awake on it.

The past few times I have taken it, not only does it not take the itch away completely,… read more

Do you get irritable on benadryl? What other side effects do you get if any? How do you cope with them?

Hello everyone. I'm 22, reactive to dairy, dairy derivatives, tree nuts, shellfish, aspartame, tomatoes, and now bananas are hit or miss....mostly miss.

Besides that, I have a lot of other random allergies. Basically, this translates to a lot of benadryl taken often.

I used to use benadryl as a little kid food :'(pretty related allergies, but I don't recall having many side effects. Now however, I have… read more

Zyrtec

Zyrtec

I am allergic to Benedryl, Sudafed and Reactin. I am able to use Aerius but prefer not to because it tastes horrible. Also allergic to artificial sweeteners. I need liquid or sublingual. Does anyone know if I would be safe with Zyrtec? Thanks in advance.

If you have had an allergic reaction to a food, how long has it take to get it out of your system? 7 days out & on prednisone & antihist.

If you have had an allergic reaction to a food, how long has it take to get it out of your system? 7 days out & on prednisone & antihist.

I am wondering how long my symptoms will persist. I am taking prednisone, Zyrtec, Benadryl and Pepcid to control getting short of breath. I had been to the ER and received 40 mg of prednisone. The next day I felt fair, the following with small dose of prednisone, I felt awful again. Dr. has me on 40 - 60 mg a day for 3 days, 40 for 3, 20 for 3 and 10 for 3.

Just ready to get… read more
