Social Situation Involving Food

Social Situation Involving Food

I was invited to a birthday party for a friend's son and she said that she be serving pizza and birthday cake, which means there will be nothing for me to eat since I have allergies to gluten and dairy. I was told that I should "eat ahead of time" and I was only asked so I wouldn't "feel left out". I would feel left out as it is whether or not I ate ahead of time and I would have to either go and buy my own food to bring or just stand there and try not to be upset and pretend to… read more

Anyone here with chickpea, lentil and pea allergy

Anyone here with chickpea, lentil and pea allergy

My daughter has anaphylaxis reaction to chickpeas, lentils and peas. We are struggling with gram ( chick pea flour) and pea and lentil protein being substituted for wheat in effort to address gluten allergies. She reacts even if these foods have been prepared in same environment as other food. Ie cooked in same oil in restaurants. She has developed major anxiety about food following 2 anaphylactic attacks recently.

Cows milk protein cure/tests- Has anyone tried this?

Cows milk protein cure/tests- Has anyone tried this?

There is a treatment where small amounts of cows milk protein is injected into the skin over a period of time in order to familiarise your body with the protein and not have it 'attack' the cells when consumed. Does this work?

I have reactions at different times of the year where my hayfeaver reacts to natural plant foods and causes an allergic reaction. I find it hard to stick to a health diet as most of the things im allergic to are healthy.

Aw, heck. I'm allergic to ragweed, as well. I learned the hard way chamomile tea is closely related to ragweed. I gave my big bag of chamomile away.

If you have had an allergic reaction to a food, how long has it take to get it out of your system? 7 days out & on prednisone & antihist.

I am wondering how long my symptoms will persist. I am taking prednisone, Zyrtec, Benadryl and Pepcid to control getting short of breath. I had been to the ER and received 40 mg of prednisone. The next day I felt fair, the following with small dose of prednisone, I felt awful again. Dr. has me on 40 - 60 mg a day for 3 days, 40 for 3, 20 for 3 and 10 for 3.

Just ready to get… read more
