Hi, I'm Not Sure If I Belong Here Or Not, You See I Don't Have Allergies Nor Does My Child. My Nephew Has Nut Allergies.
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I keep all nut products up from where he can reach them, however that still makes me nervous when he comes over. I worry that maybe he might touch something that does have nuts and I just didn't know. Another question I have is at what age should they know when to ask about nuts in food or before they touch food with nuts in them? If I should not be on this site just calmly let me know and I will get off. Thank you

Be careful that you clean keyboard if he will use it. My husband ate walnuts while working on computer. My son played on it and broke out in hives (from the oil left on keys).

Parents Of Young Children With Extreme Allergies, Have Any Of You Felt Comfortable Sending Your Child To Preschool?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter will be 3 in December and we are considering starting her in preschool this January. She has extreme allergies to all dairy, peanuts, all tree nuts, eggs and sesame. Even secondhand touch will give her a reaction. If a kid eats any of those foods and doesn't wash up after, then touches an object my daughter will have a reaction if she touches that object next. If she didn't have allergies I would be excited for her to start preschool, but I'm not sure its worth the risk at this age.

Make sure she understands not to take or trade food with other students.

Alpha Gal Allergies
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Who has this? Finally requested doctors office blood testing for Lymes. Not sure of that result as it is not available or wasn't ordered however, I tested positive for Alpha Gal. What guidance were you advised besides avoiding Beef Pork and Lamb? Realize this also includes No meats from any hoofed animals including wild game. New journey. Continue eating Medeterrian diet-lifestyle for (our) health issues and easiest for two retirees.
