What Type Of Medicine Can A Person Take In The Morning To Help With Allergies That Will Help
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

when I have breakfast in the morning and here is a different bread that I haven't had before than 30 minutes later my throat get sore and lips start to hurt. If there was something I could take that would help with the allergy in the event that I did eat something that I was allergy to but not enough to cause a full blown out reaction.

I am now taking a allergy pill first thing in the morning. It seems to help me some. Thanks to everyone for the updates. Happy Holidays.

Zyrtec
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am allergic to Benedryl, Sudafed and Reactin. I am able to use Aerius but prefer not to because it tastes horrible. Also allergic to artificial sweeteners. I need liquid or sublingual. Does anyone know if I would be safe with Zyrtec? Thanks in advance.

Does Anyone Else Get Hives And Can’t Determine Why?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My hands, fingers, forearms itch like crazy all night long. I have hives all over my arms, shoulders, waist, chest. They come and go so quickly at times. The hives and itchy skin aren’t related, according to my allergist. I’ve been taking 20mg of Claritin AND 20mg of Zyrtec every day and they helped for a while but my symptoms are back again. Doctor prescribed a medication called doxepin and wants me to take two capsules at bedtime and stay on the Zyrtec but stop taking Claritin. I’m not… read more

Due To My Severe Allergies I Generally Have No Sense Of Smell, Does Anyone Else Deal With This?
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was told to try wild Oregano tablets as supplements, sometimes this helps
I've had 3 sinus surgeries which basically didn't work because the polyps grew back, there is only so much lining in our sinuses, so no more surgeries for me. I've tried literally every nose spray on the market, sinus douching. I find the salt rinses don't help, although one homeopathic rinse I tried a few years ago helped a little
I literally feel like I've tried everything... although I'm always open to suggestions!… read more

Hi, thank you for your comment, I did live in a house that had black mold for 5 years, the NeilMed is a nasal rinse I tried with little success since it is salt based. Taking Singular and Zyrtec daily… read more

I forgot to add- I literally foam at the mouth and will drool uncontrollably afterwards. No one has ever heard of this that I've talked to. I generally stay away from shellfish/fish because I'm sure… read more

Allergic To Carrots, No EpiPen, And Scared.
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a severe carrot allergy that started 15 years ago. After I developed the allergy (literally overnight) I found myself reacting to other foods such as, sweet potatoes, radishes, turnips, beets, watermelon, cantaloupe, parsnips, and various squashes. I live with my husband's family who seem to not want to understand or help me prevent a reaction. They do not seem to want to understand cross contamination, and they refuse to change their diet so that my kitchen is allergen free. (They like… read more

As you posted 3 months ago, I sure hope by now you have seen the allergist and have your EpiPens (or generic equivalent). I don’t tolerate diphenhydramine (Benadryl) well either and save that for… read more

Baby Severely Allergic To Dairy
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is 91/2 months old and is severely allergic to dairy. He cannot consume anything with dairy. He has an epi pen as well. If milk touches him ( yogurt, milk, etc ) touches him he breaks out I hives. The other day he put a friends toy in his mouth and got hives all over his mouth! I'm suppose to go back to work shortly. My question is. How do you cope with this? How does daycare handle these situations if he can't even touch toys that have been in contact with dairy! It's not like they can… read more

I have the same reaction to dairy. I’m sorry you and your son are having to deal with it. It feels like dairy is in everything. And it’s a lifelong struggle. If my children take a drink from my cup… read more

If You Have Had An Allergic Reaction To A Food, How Long Has It Take To Get It Out Of Your System? 7 Days Out & On Prednisone & Antihist.
A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am wondering how long my symptoms will persist. I am taking prednisone, Zyrtec, Benadryl and Pepcid to control getting short of breath. I had been to the ER and received 40 mg of prednisone. The next day I felt fair, the following with small dose of prednisone, I felt awful again. Dr. has me on 40 - 60 mg a day for 3 days, 40 for 3, 20 for 3 and 10 for 3.

Just ready to get back to normal. It has been exactly one week since I was exposed.
