Food Allergies: What People Don't See (Infographic)

Updated on February 5, 2017

Below the surface, living with food allergies can mean loneliness and anxiety about possible emergencies. There's so much more to life with food allergies than meets the eye. We know that the food allergy life comes with many possible combinations of reactions and emotional struggles, many of which appear invisible to outsiders. Most people don't see what we experience.

On MyFoodAllergyTeam.com, the social network and online support group for individuals and families living with food allergies, members discuss the impactful and private nature of food allergies. MyFoodAllergyTeam has grown to reach 26,000 members, and members have shared thousands of conversations about life with food allergies. Throughout the year we will share themes we see come up time and time again on MyFoodAllergyTeam. We chose the image of an iceberg to represent food allergies because the life-impacting implications of food allergies aren't obvious on the surface. Please share to spread food allergy awareness!

This list is by no means exhaustive. What would you add?
